Hey y’all! I’m Courtney Luper, proud Fort Worthian. I was born here and am blessed to call it home. I’m 41 with two grown boys in their early 20’s, and I take care of my 88-year-old Papa. We have a houseful, but I couldn’t imagine anything different.
I was surprised when I received a message from Raul asking about participating in this project. Leader? That is something I’m still still growing into. This definitely wasn’t the life I had planned out for myself!
Four years ago my life turned upside down, in a good way. I found network marketing and after struggling my entire adulthood, I felt I had hit the jackpot! I found the passion and fulfillment I had searched for my entire life!
After a viral post, I was able to build a Facebook following of almost 2 million people. But I don’t see them as the following, I see them as my friends. They are so involved in my life that I even received over 1700 birthday cards for my Papa when he turned 88. We had over 100,000 viewers on a live video during his birthday party in my home. The connections I’ve made with so many people across the world have been amazing!
The best part of all of it is, I now work for myself, which gives me the chance to spend time on things that really matter. During the flooding in Baton Rouge last year, I felt called to help out. I connected with this amazing group of people at the Cajun Navy and just a few days later I had my community loading up 2 huge u-hauls full of donations and my friends and I drove it to Baton Rouge ourselves. We were able to get in on the front lines and actually speak to and help some of those who had lost everything. I think that experience forever changed me. This life isn’t about us, it’s about what we can do for others, especially ones that can never repay us.
Life is so different today. I don’t struggle financially, mentally I’m stronger than I’ve ever been, but the leadership part, I’m still working on. That’s the reason I decided to accept Raul’s offer into this project. I made a decision earlier this year that I was going to open myself to more people and opportunities in leadership roles. It’s amazing the doors that are opening just because I made that decision.
I’m looking forward to this year as we all develop and grow into the leaders we are destined to be! (2017)
